Tabitha Isner - Public Figure
Vice Chair of the Alabama Democratic Party. Co-founder of Atlas for Democracy. 2018 Dem Nominee for AL-02. Vice Chair of the Southern Region of ASDC.
American citizen with rights and responsibilities.
Over the last 5 years, the Alabama Department of Corrections has spent 68 million on legal services to defend their violence, brutality, inhumane conditions, and malfeasance. Even if you don't care about people's humanity, you can care about all that wasted taxpayer money.

FORMERLY independent. Clearly the National Science Board, like everything else in America, is no longer independent. 😩

Your legislators should be serious about improving your family's quality of life. Making healthcare affordable will be at the TOP of my priority list for the 2027 session. Healthcare should not be a luxury item.
The fact is that Alabama is in the midst of a healthcare crisis and it's time to take action to ensure that everyone has access to the affordable care they need and deserve.

Here's your EARTH DAY reminder that the Alabama Public Service Commission decides what kind of power plants to build (coal, natural gas, nuclear, solar, wind) and also what investments are made in energy infrastructure - such as determining when a coal plant should be shuttered or updated. If you love clean air and clean water, this stuff matters. So get to know your PSC Candidates!

Paying informants is a standard practice when investigating groups that don't talk publicly about what they're doing. The private individuals and entities that fund SPLC know this and were fine with their money being used to infiltrate secretive groups like the K*K. No one can argue with a straight face that the SPLC is propping up hate groups.

I'm thrilled to hear that AG Marshall has successfully secured a $12 million settlement with Roblox to protect children from online predators. That money will be put into funding School Resource Officers. While I know the intention of that is to protect kids, the dangers our kids face these days are not the kind a SRO can address. Money from those settlements should be funding mental health care and internet safety programs for youth.

I'm excited to see what's possible this year, not just for Huntsville Democrats, but for the whole state!
Population growth, shifting demographics and a favorable national environment have Alabama Democrats hopeful that they can pick up legislative seats in the Huntsville area. But Republicans, with local control and strong fundraising, aren't going without a fight. https://ow.ly/gLFl50YLx5k

This weekend the Alabama Democratic Conference met to screen candidates and issue endorsements. I don't have primary opposition, so I wasn't up for endorsement, but I was there to cheer on my fellow Democrats. We have some great candidates, so start researching and getting ready for the Democratic Primary on May 19!

Did you know that Alabama has the nation's oldest public television network? But Alabama Public Television lost $2.8 million in funding when Congress cut funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Now APT is questioning whether it can afford to keep PBS programming. If you love PBS and want it to remain on Alabama Public Television, please make your voice heard. The Alabama Educational Television Commission will meet at 10 am, Tuesday, April 21, at the APT Montgomery studio, 1255 Madison Ave., Montgomery, AL 36107.
