Summer Reading is in full bloom! Our library staff and teen intern visited city departments to share information about our Summer Reading Program and to invite everyone to participate. Thank you to all the departments that welcomed us with such enthusiasm. Let the reading adventures begin! When our city comes together to celebrate reading, everyone wins. 🌻📚✨

Attention to all of our Casanova Oak Knoll library patrons! Our Bookmobile will now be visiting your neighborhood on 4 - 5 pm on Tuesdays starting June 16th. This change was made after receiving community feedback on what works better for YOU. We hope to see you at the Bookmobile soon, make sure to visit us and sign up for the Summer Reading Program.

Summer Scares for today is What We Harvest by Ann Fraistat.

Staff Pick Saturday this week is Odder by Katherine Applegate (Middle Grade).

Odder spends her days off the coast of central California, practicing her underwater acrobatics and spinning the quirky stories for which she’s known. She’s a fearless daredevil, curious to a fault. But when Odder comes face-to-face with a hungry great white shark, her life takes a dramatic turn, one that will challenge everything she believes about herself―and about the humans who hope to save her.

Join Monterey Knitting Social Club & Monterey Public Library next week June 13th from 12-4pm on the Colton Hall Lawn for Worldwide Knit in Public Day. This event is welcomes everyone, from beginners to experts, and inclusive of all fiber arts (not just knitting). Bring something to sit on, protection from the sun or fog, a snack, and your latest project to work on. This is a casual gathering and an opportunity to meet other fiber enthusiasts in the community.
This will take place instead of our Monthly Afternoon Stitch & Sip.
