I was lucky enough to get out of town and go down the coast to Cayucos and Morro Bay for a few days. It was a really mellow trip and just what I needed before the fall rush hits. I love it when folks tag me when they come into town to visit, so I thought I’d share my favorite spots & stops.

Cayucos: the beach and the pier, for seafood, for cookies, of course, for blue corn tacos and waffles, mmm, where I finally found the display case I’ve been searching for for months!

Morro Bay: the rock, for a huge collection of shells to see and buy, for a tasty flat white, for locally made gifts & goods. I also recommend a stop in Harmony on Hwy 1 to check out their glass and pottery galleries and walk around their cute grounds.

It was a nice break but I’m happy to be home (and happy car week is over 🤪). Do you have any central coast recommendations for me? I’m already thinking about when I can go back. 😊🩵

Three years ago today, I flipped the sign on my studio door to “open” and haven’t looked back since! A few months before, I took a huge leap and left my landscape architecture career in hopes of more; more creativity, more autonomy, and more personal connections. I signed a commercial lease and used my savings to build my studio & shop. I couldn’t have predicted how wonderful/terrifying/satisfying/stressful it’s been, but I have absolutely no regrets. Thank you for being here while I figure it out and thank you for supporting my dream. This is just the beginning! ❣️
