On Earth Day, we’re reminded how much of the planet’s story depends on those who document the natural world and those who bring those stories forward. The quiet moments. The wild places. The rare behaviors, captured through patience and skill by filmmakers in the field, and brought into focus by the storytellers who build the narrative around them. Whether you’re a videographer spending days in the field or a filmmaker shaping those moments into stories for a global audience, NatureFootage thanks you.

The waves in San Diego are lit up by bioluminescent algae that glow from the movement of the water. During the day, the algae look red, inspiring the name red tide. 🌊 Although many marine creatures use bioluminescence as a natural defense mechanism, from a human perspective, it is incredible to see the water radiate neon blue light. 😍

Although this Wolf may resemble and be related to your favorite cuddly, domesticated dog, it is bigger, smarter, shyer, and lacking in the dependence on humans that make dogs so lovable. 🐺Wolves can also smell up to a mile away in good conditions, which is what helped this one discover its next meal. 😍
