Something’s always gotta give. No-one does it all and does it well all the time without some sacrifice. All this talk about parents “embracing these early days” and “they grow so fast” make us feel like we have to do all the things to ensure we don’t miss out on anything. Except life doesn’t work like that. Life gets really unnecessarily hard when we approach it like that. It’s too much pressure. Instead, maybe we can offer ourselves grace in the process. One example would be to prioritize how we want to feel as we go about our days. Maybe we can make choices based on whether it will get us closer to how we want to feel. If not, we don’t do it. Can I enjoy my baby today AND this sunny gorgeous day AND go for a walk AND get in all my pumping? No? Then I guess I’m not gonna get in my pumping! And THAT’S ok!

Doulas are our favorite! This past week was World Doula Week, an opportunity to celebrate those who provide physical, emotional and informational support during the childbearing year. Did you know that at milkwell 3 of us have been or currently are also practicing doulas in addition to lactation consultants?! How fun! And those team members who aren’t actually doulas were also chosen to be on the team BECAUSE of their doula heart and approach to care. We do care. We want to help you meet your goals but we also want you to feel cared for. We will share, teach, guide, counsel and help you feel SEEN in the process. In the same way as your birth doula had your back(and your hips with hip squeezes to ease some of the pressure) and your postpartum doula helps protect your heart and navigate new parenthood we got your heart and your b***s (to help ease some of the pressure there too!). I’ve received all sort of breast related gifts but this is my first 3D b**b mug. The ni***es, dripping white glaze and p***s are KILLING me. Thank you baby F! ❤️
