From LA ☀️🌴 to the rink 🥶 — thank you to the and their incredible team for having me!!

I’ve been in touch with their team since the summer, and when the opportunity to perform this week came together, I felt some conflict.

Performing the National Anthem is a meaningful exposure opportunity for artists, but I wanted to be thoughtful of how the moment might be received.

While thinking it through, I was reminded of something I had forgotten: The National Anthem is often treated like a statement, but its opening stanza actually ends as a question — “O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave…” — written in the middle of conflict and uncertainty.

In July, I became a member. Yesterday, I attended my first — with my dad 🥹

Still processing, b/ this week has been everything, checked every box.
