The sad truth of an insurance-based medical system. Doctors are not in control and patient care suffers. I can’t tell you how many hours I spend weekly trying to get things covered for patients by their insurance. And I don’t accept insurance as a form of payment in my practice. Multiply that by 1000 patients in a traditional practice and the doctor is extremely overburdened.
