I obviously try to keep this space light, fun, and inspiring but it’s admittedly difficult to fully separate the store and the self, ya know?

My dad has been gone from this earth for twenty whole years today - next year I will have spent an equal amount of time with him as without him. An insane thought!

For those who don’t know, my dad died in a car accident. I was on my way to his house for dinner when it happened. My sister was away at college and I had to call and tell her, a conversation that I’ve since completely blocked out. To this day, I think that was the most difficult thing I’ve ever done. In fact, I don’t remember much from that evening or the days following; just flashes.

Please let this post serve as a not-so-gentle reminder that life is waaaay too short and completely unpredictable. Do the things that seem scary and make sure to say I love you (assuming you mean it, of course) 💔
