Street Angel
We are a group of Neighbors helping Neighbors who formed after the devastating June 1, 2011 Monson, MA Tornado. We have over 245 affected families.
We walk from house to house sharing info and helping our neighbors in need. Over 90 people lost their homes. We share pertinent town info as well as bringing these families hope with help from our volunteers so that we can provide them the help they need.
It is my pleasure to announce that the balance of the funds in our Street Angel account of $1182.00 have been donated to the Town of Monson Christmas Light Account to help restore power going up Main Street after the poles were destroyed in the 6/1/11 tornado! All these funds had been donated during fund raising and were to be used specifically for tornado related activities.

We dedicate today as Kenneth Gran day! Ken was a man who lived on Washington Street in Monson who was impacted by the 6/1/11 tornado. We spent many weeks with volunteers at his home cutting, picking up wood, repairing a front porch, built him a new shed, planted trees and flowers in his yard and became his friend. He always helped us in return making drawings of plans for other projects. He was also known as the "Granite man" and was responsible for obtaining granite from all over for many monuments and colleges built in the Greater Springfield area and beyond. It was our pleasure to work along side him on so many volunteer projects. He passed away yesterday and we are very sad. Our thoughts and prayers today are with his family. Ken, we know your building something grand today in heaven!
We are in need of volunteers for this Saturday the 22nd to unload a storage unit and put it into the O'Grady home.
