Kilowatts Racing Soap Box Derby

Me and Jackson traveled to Morganton NC to race in the local. He needed to race in a Local to be eligible to go to Akron in Rally Masters. Well he ended up winning the local and will be representing Morganton NC Region 12 in Akron this year in July as a local champ.

I would like to thank everyone there for all the support they gave to Jackson and welcoming him into their Derby community. It’s was an amazing day surrounded by some amazing people.

Team Kilowatts/Pickels finished exactly how we wanted in the Southeast Ga local race. It was a great day of racing. Henry finished 2nd in Super Stock, he will be racing Stock Rally so we didn’t want him to win this year. Isaac finished first and is a back to back to back triple crown winner. Jackson wasn’t able to race so we recruited Hunter to drive his car. She finished second in her first time racing Masters. Weston finished first in Stock. The team drove great lines and we couldn’t be prouder!!

Team Kilowatts/Pickles raced at the fastest track in the country Monster Mountain in Winston Salem NC. This race brings out some of the top racer’s from around the country. Henry had a great weekend, his driving was on point. He finished the weekend with a second in all three races. Jackson finished with a seventh, Alyssa finished with a fifth and 2 sixth, Isaac finished with a sixth and an eighth, Charles finished with a third and a sixth. The racing was the closest racing we had seen all season. Thanks to Kevin Boyd for that great action shots from the weekend.

Team Kilowatts/Pickles had a great weekend in Lyons.

Henry had his first sweep weekend finishing first in all 4 races!

Jackson podiumed in all four races as well finished with a 2nd,3ed and two 4th’s.

Isaac finished with a 2ed and a 3ed.

Charles finished with 4th.

Next up is Monster Mountain next weekend!!

We had great weather and great times hanging out with our Derby family!!

Kilowatts and Pickles racing have teamed up this year to grow the team and travel together. This past weekend we went to Roanoke. The boys did good Henry finished the weekend with (2) 3ed’s and (2) 4th’s. Issac finished with (2) 4th’s and (2) 5th’s. They also had a great time at the go kart track. This was the second race for Issac in the fresh build Master car. We are still getting it dialed in. Hoping to have his new shell painted soon. Also looking like we need to get Henry’s new SS finished up as well…… he is had a growth spurt…… hahahaha

This past Saturday the team made their way down to Sanford, FL to race! We, also, had our new team member, Leland, race for the first time! We enjoyed starting off the new season with all of our derby friends!

Leland raced stock and got 6th for his first ever race!

Henry raced stock and placed 4th in both races!

Alyssa raced super stock and placed 3rd and 4th!
