Sandbox Therapy Group’s Anna DiNoto was humbled to be on the training panel - Games, Quests and Therapy - at Ryther Child Center recently. The training included Adam Davis (Games to Grow) and Peter Jung (Behavior Bridges)! We met many awesome people, witnessed the amazing generosity from Gamers Engaged, and had a blast 😊!

Fun fact - did you know that the first D&D social skills group at Ryther Child Center was started by Anna?! Below, you can see Adam and Peter alongside her, who later led and expanded upon the group, making it the amazing group that it is today!

★STAFF SPOTLIGHT★

Kristen Leucuta grew up just outside of the Chicago area. She attended the University of Kansas and received her Speech Language Pathology (SLP) degree from Idaho State University. A fellow student at the university touted the beauty and scenery of the greater Seattle area. Kristen came to visit after grad school, and decided to move here. She then began a successful internship at Sandbox Therapy Group, and a few months later, came back to practice as an SLP.

One of her areas of focus and study is feeding therapy. She is astute at learning about what causes food aversions, as well as the mechanical and sensory aspect of this approach to therapy, and uses the Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach. SOS feeding therapy, as it is known, utilizes a food hierarchy to increase the diversity in a diet, and form a healthy relationship with food through positive experiences. It integrates motor, oral, behavioral, and nutritional factors.

Outside of work she enjoys time getting back into reading, and is currently reading up on the care of Pug puppies. She would also like to re-read volumes of the Harry Potter series, and the novel Dune. Kristen enjoys working with her clients on speech language intelligibility and cluttering as well as feeding therapy. Her passion for her work and attention to detail is evident in her desire to learn more about each client here at Sandbox.
