Monroe County Museum System
We fuel and cultivate our visitors’ curiosity through the exploration of our Monroe County History.
We house one of the largest collections of artifacts relating to Southeast Michigan. Only a small percentage of the total collection can be exhibited at one time; many exhibits are changed each year. We are a unit of the County of Monroe, Michigan, governed by the County of Monroe, Michigan Board of Commissioners, and generously funded by the citizens of Monroe County. Also, we're filled with awesome stuff; you should come and see.

Kudos to the Berlin Charter Township Historical Society. We're excited about the Our First Flag project and look forward to seeing all of the components come together on Flag Day, June 14.

Many thanks to everyone who came to learn about Michigan in the American Revolution last Thursday! Special thanks to Craig Wilson of Mackinac State Historic Parks for making the journey to Monroe and delivering a great presentation!

With your help, on March 28, 2026 (1947), Monroe's most notorious (and fictitious) art thief was apprehended at the County Museum! We had a great time solving the mystery with everyone's help. Special thanks to One Book One Community of Monroe County MI for the inspiring read, and to all the participants who rooted out the dastardly culprit!
