Adams and I were having a conversation about Charlie Kirk’s life and how can we possibly reconcile that a Christ-follower died while standing on God’s promise that “no weapon formed against us shall prosper.” To which Adams made the point that if we look at the truly amazing response in the way that the name of Jesus Christ has been spoken over and over again for all the world to hear, then in fact the weapon did not prosper.

JD Vance made the statement that he has been emboldened to talk more about Jesus Christ in the past two weeks than he has in his entire time in public life. This is exactly what we need: people with public platforms that are willing to profess the name of Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

May the spark that Charlie’s death ignited be the turning point for countless souls as they follow in Charlie’s footsteps and start their own relationship with Jesus Christ. 🔥

🤓 Addie was honored as a top scholar at the Ouachita Scholars Banquet
🎾 Addie and Ellie made it to State in tennis
🌷Adams and I attended the Governor’s Prayer Breakfast in Baton Rouge and helped host the reception at the Governor’s Mansion
🌈An Easter rainbow was witnessed at Trinity Family Farm
🏃🏼‍♀️Ella qualified for two events in next week’s Regional Track Meet and I deserve my own medal for cheering her on in the rain

It's hard to believe that Resting in Jesus is a year old!

When I think about this book that the Lord gave to me, I get a little teary-eyed. I remember the day that DaySpring asked me to write this devotional guide and how it seemingly came out of the blue. I wasn't asking for it...in fact, I had just been rejected by a major publishing house after getting really far with them and I was in the middle of healing from major surgery and soon to have two more. But when God wants something out there, He will do it, regardless of our circustances!

Jesus taught me what true rest looks like and that "to rest" is actually an action verb. Why? Because it requires obedience and trust...which is a major theme of Resting in Jesus.

Thank you to all of you who have encouraged me through this journey, who have shared with me how Jesus showed up for you while you were walking with Mary and Martha and how you found healing and hope. You'll never know how much your sweet words have blessed me.

There is much more to share about how the Lord truly made me live out this book, but I'll save that for another time. Until then, you can find me happily resting in Jesus. 🤍
