The plan was simple.

Maggie and I were going to take our 1987 Porsche 944 to Helen, Georgia for the annual Transaxle Gathering and finally unveil the finished project.

There was just one problem.

The 944 was still sitting back home in Charlotte.

We could have stayed home. Instead, we loaded up the 911 and headed to the North Georgia mountains anyway.

What followed was a weekend filled with incredible roads, beautiful scenery, great people, and a reminder that sometimes the best memories happen when things don't go according to plan.
