​Adjust the pace: If possible, schedule heavy labor for the cooler early morning hours.

​Don’t push it - look out for one another and stay hydrated!

On this Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women of our armed forces who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. We also hold in our hearts the families who live with the enduring pain of that loss. Freedom is not free, and today we remember the true cost. We will never forget your courage, and we will always honor your legacy. 🇺🇸

Tomorrow marks a heavy anniversary for our community. On April 23, 1987, the L'Ambiance Plaza collapsed in a devastating tragedy, taking the lives of 28 hardworking construction workers. It was a dark day that forever changed Bridgeport and left an indelible mark on the families and friends left behind.

We must never forget them, nor the sacrifices they made.

Please join us tomorrow at Bridgeport City Hall (side entrance) 45 Lyons Terrace at 11:00am (service to start promptly at 11:30am) as we gather to honor their memory, support one another, and ensure their legacy is never forgotten.

We regret to inform you on the passing of retired member Raymond John Dolyak. Raymond had been a member with Local 488 for 56 years. Raymond was initiated into Local 488 January 1970 and retired in June 2005.

Friends may greet the family on Tuesday, April 14th from 4-7 PM in the Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford. There will be a Panachida at 4:30 PM and a Masonic service at 6PM. A Requiem Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, April 15th at 10:00 a.m. in the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist 364 Mill Hill Avenue, Bridgeport. Interment with full military honors will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Stratford.

Happy 113th Birthday, IBEW Local 488! ⚡️🎂 On this exact day in 1913, nineteen charter members were officially recognized by the IBEW to represent the electrical workers of our area. These pioneers didn't have a roadmap, past agreements, or an established hall—they relied solely on "intelligence, common sense and courage enriched by unity."

Over a century later, we're still carrying that banner high, powering Western Connecticut, and standing strong together. Here’s to the 19 giants who started it all and the brothers and sisters keeping the legacy alive today! ✊🔌
