Focused on the principles of promoting self-sufficiency, UCCA operates a variety of programs to assist disadvantaged children, youth, adults, and families. These programs current include: The Head Start Program, The Early Head Start Program, the Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) Propel Program, the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). Exciting News for Anson County Families!

UCCA Head Start is opening a new classroom for 4 year old children at Ansonville Elementary School in August 2026, and we are now recruiting families for the 2026–2027 program year.

Head Start helps children build the skills they need for school and life through early learning, health, nutrition, family support, and school readiness services.

Families may qualify based on income, foster care, homelessness, TANF/SSI, SNAP or other eligibility factors.

Community Focus: Weekly Recap — May 11 through 15, 2026.
