Nature never disappoints.
While out on a walk today, I came across this beautiful orange-striped Common Garter Snake basking in the sunshine. It's always amazing to find such vibrant colors in a species many people see every day but rarely stop to appreciate.
Just a reminder that even the most common snakes can be absolutely stunning!

✨ Exciting News! ✨
I recently acquired a future breeding trio of 3-year-old Eastern Indigo Snakes from Robert Bruce — one of the most knowledgeable and experienced Eastern Indigo breeders in the world.
This is the beginning of a very exciting journey for me, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to work with such an incredible species. In a couple of years, I look forward to starting a breeding project with this group and contributing to the future of these stunning snakes.
Here’s a look at one of them — these animals are truly breathtaking in person!

Big milestone here at Snakes and Science! 🐍✨
My female Bredli python has finally laid 26 perfect eggs.
These little ones will be hatching in late October! 🐣
Bredli pythons (Morelia bredli) are one of the most amazing python species:
They’re native to the dry, rocky ranges of central Australia.
Known for their stunning colors and patterns that deepen with age.
Typically calm and manageable, making them a favorite among python keepers.
They are incredibly hardy, withstanding extremes - dry heat during the day and bitter cold nights.
I feel lucky to be working with this beautiful species and can’t wait to share updates as these eggs begin to hatch!

Thank you to everyone who slithered over to the Snakes and Science booth at today’s CASCADIA REPTILE EXPO! Your excitement and curiosity made the day unforgettable. I loved chatting reptiles, swapping stories, and seeing so many of you hold your very first snake.
Tomorrow is Day 2, and I’m bringing the energy (and the scaley stars) right back. Heads-up: I only have 3 baby black milk snakes left—healthy, curious, and ready for new homes—so swing by early if you’ve been eyeing one.
See you tomorrow for more fun! 🖤🐍✨
