An amazing life update from @ificanucantu on IG! Last month, she was finally able to jog again for the first time in 22 years. See what she had to say about the experience below!

"After 22 years, I was finally able to feel what it feels like to jog again. And it was the wildest and most exciting thing I’ve felt in so long.

I used to love to run long distance before my accident. But since my accident my walking is a slow leisurely pace, there is no pep in my step lol. I’ve had dreams of me running and getting to feel that again. And last Friday, I was able to actually feel what I felt in my dreams.

The AlterG is an anti-gravity treadmill that takes the load off you when you walk, you can control how much of your body weight you are using. It was insane because I immediately knew when I strapped in and felt the weight become less that I could try walking faster than I ever have, maybe even run. There was no pain in my knees and no pressure through my feet or back. I walked for about 20 mins at about 50% body weight. I could feel my legs working for me, proper gait, stride and proper foot placement. I could feel my calves firing and quads. So I asked my trainer to keep upping the speed, I was going to jog. I could not take the smile off my face. My mind remembered what it felt like to run but my body forgot the mechanics of it. After a few weird attempts at it, my trainer reminded me to shift my weight when running and that que helped me feel the movement a little better. After some jogging did some incline walking at 49 percent body weight. Before you knew it 55 mins had passed and my legs were exhausted. Now walking after, felt like I had 50 lb legs that were stuck to the ground 😂👍👌🏼!

I’m pretty sure I was in disbelief the remainder of the day. I had not jogged since I was 15. I’m 39 y’all, the excitement was real. More jogging videos in my future!"
