Who knew a $20 wig I stumbled upon would actually come through. I bought dye for it, but decided to leave it as is.

It’s been a long minute since I’ve played in makeup.

Transparency Moment | I’ve been doing community work involving education since 2021. I’ve been an artist all my life, but I have been knitting since elementary and crocheting since 2023. At some point living is two worlds (professional and creative) was hard, so I attempted to combine them. Then life transitioned again. I had to cancel all my in person events for that new “launch.”

I could’ve given up for good. I could’ve taken that as a sign to abandon it all. But I’m not that weak.

I didn’t have a plan, but I committed to still do things for me that I enjoy for the time being. I’ve always felt called doing custom work, I just never put myself out there long enough for something to stick.

My husband and I started back watching WWE for his job as a radio sports analyst. We had to watch Wrestlemania 2024 for his upcoming segment. We realized we both had history with watching the program and before long it became our “thing” and have kept it up since. I always joked about buying some gear. One day I thought, “y’know, I could just…make my own gear?”

And that’s where this journey began. It feels vulnerable sharing the process not fully knowing the end of it all, or if it will succeed, but my God, does it feel fulfilling.

It’s Medical Laboratory Professionals Week!! 👩🏽‍🔬🩵💚 As you all know, I’m a multifaceted creative. I am formally a Medical Laboratory Scientist and that training inspires my creative endeavors as well. Jas from the Lab is the home for that.
