A nurse’s care leaves a lasting impact.
The Nightingale Tribute offers a meaningful way to honor nurses who have passed, recognizing their service, compassion, and contributions to the profession. The tribute includes a special service and poem that may be adapted to reflect the nurse being remembered.
Families, colleagues, and friends may also submit a nurse’s name for recognition or make a memorial donation to the Nurses Foundation of Wisconsin, supporting nursing education, research, and nursing’s impact on health care.
Learn more about the Nightingale Tribute:

This Memorial Day, we honor and remember the courageous service members who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
We also recognize the extraordinary nurses who have served in the military, providing care, comfort, leadership, and compassion in some of the most challenging circumstances imaginable.
Today, we remember those we have lost and thank all military nurses and healthcare professionals for their service and sacrifice.

Wisconsin Attorney General joins a coalition of state AGs in a lawsuit filed against the Department of Education over the student loan rule.
On May 19, 2026, a coalition of the attorneys general, including Wisconsin’s AG, filed a lawsuit to push back on the finalized Department of Education rule that excludes nursing from the definition of “professional degree” category. This decision impacts the amount of loan dollars available for nurses pursuing an advanced degree as a nurse educator and advanced practice registered nurses (APRN).
The Wisconsin Nurses Association joins the American Nurses Association (ANA) in applauding the coalition effort and fully supports this action.
