Biology students gain hands-on experience helping local farm 04/24/2026

Another great example of collaboration between Penn State Extension and Penn State Beaver! Working with Tall Pines Farms shows how powerful collaborations can be and what can be accomplished together. Students getting experience in the field through implementation of this project but also the connection with the farmer builds workforce development and bridges between producers and students. We are super excited by this project and the continued possibilities of working together to positively affect our communities!

Biology students gain hands-on experience helping local farm Students from Penn State Beaver and staff from Penn State Extension–Beaver County are helping a local family farm with a water quality project that aims to improve the farm for future generations and potentially improve the water quality of a river downstream of a creek that runs through the farm.
