As Memorial Day remembrance ends, we reflect on honoring the members who came before us.
Each year, the names of past Moline Fire Department members are displayed and read aloud on our Remembrance Wall, followed by the ringing of the bell in honor of their service.
Active and retired members also place grave markers at the resting places of our fallen brothers and sisters, ensuring their dedication is never forgotten.
Thank you to Retired Chief Snyder for creating a virtual grave cemetery to help members and loved ones locate and honor those who proudly served MFD.
Their legacy continues to live on within our department and community.

🚑 National EMS Week 2026 | May 17–23 🚑
“Improving Outcomes, Together”
This week, we proudly recognize the paramedics, EMTs, and EMS providers of the Moline Fire Department during National EMS Week 2026.
Whether responding to a critical emergency or helping someone through a difficult moment, our crews are there when the community needs them most. The theme “Improving Outcomes, Together” reflects the teamwork between EMS, firefighters, dispatchers, nurses, physicians, law enforcement, and healthcare partners who work together every day to provide the best possible care.
In 2025, Moline Fire Department responded to nearly 10,000 incidents, with EMS calls continuing to make up the majority of our responses.
Thank you to all EMS professionals for your dedication, professionalism, and service to our community.

Moline Fire Department would like to wish all Moline High School students and students across our community a safe, fun, and memorable prom weekend! 💃🕺
Earlier this week, MFD participated in Operation Prom at Moline High School, helping to demonstrate the very real, life-changing consequences that can occur in an instant when impaired driving or other dangerous decisions are involved. Our goal is to encourage students to make safe choices and look out for one another during this exciting time of year.
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who helped make this important event possible:
UnityPoint Health
Medforce Aeromedical Transport
QCOMM
Moline High School staff
Moline Police Department
Rock Island County Coroner’s Office
Rafferty Funeral Home
Melissa Scott (keynote speaker)
Have fun, celebrate responsibly, and make it home safely. Your choices matter!

🌍🚒 International Firefighters’ Day 🚒🌍
Today, we recognize firefighters across the world, and I want to take a moment to highlight our crew here in Moline.
This job is more than fighting fires. It’s EMS calls, rescues, training, inspections, and any dirty job no one else can handle, all while being ready whenever the call comes in. Our people show up every day and get the job done.

That’s a wrap on another busy week at MFD! 🚒 🇩🇪🇺🇸
We:
• Hosted 26+ students for the IFSI Incident Safety Officer class
• Welcomed visitors from our sister city in Verbandsgemeinde Asbach, Germany 🇩🇪
• Conducted roof ventilation training on a future Central Fire Station site
• Attended Black Hawk College’s First Responders Appreciation & Criminal Justice Career Exploration Day
And that’s all on top of our daily emergency responses, duties, and hazardous materials inspections.
There’s never a dull moment at MFD, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Strong work team!
