We had a fire that originated in one of our smokers. The quick response by employees working with fire extinguishers, calling 911 and evacuating customers and staff helped assess the seriousness of this particular fire. Thank goodness for the fire suppression system that saved it from spreading to the building. The fire itself was contained to one smoker. However, the smoke and water damage requires quite a bit of cleaning. Our Milan store must remain closed as we partner with a restoration company, the Rock Island Health Department, and other agencies to reopen as soon as possible. Here's how you can help:

1) Share this post
2) Consider attending our store's Cookout for lunch. Mon-Saturdays, Full menu and Brat of the Day.
3) Visit us at the Freight House Farmers Market. We have all flavors of brats, frozen burgers, smoked meats, chicken grillers, and so much more.
4) Although you may be curious, you won't physically see any damage on the store showroom floor. The smoke damage is everywhere, but light. Lookie Lou's will really be getting in the way of cleanup so please refrain from getting physically close to the windows and doors as we do our work.
