I was notified of a loose dog in Coal Valley on 12/29/25. After some investigation I. learned a few things 1. This dog had been loose at least since 12/24/25 when On the run pet rescue had started trying to trap it. 2. this was in Henry County, who had also tried to trap it at some point. So I went to work asking Henry County Animal Control permission to help trap as this was not my jurisdiction. Permission Grated! Then getting permission from my director Sam Woodhouse-Wiley to leave my jurisdiction to help, Permission granted. I contacted Sue with On the run pet rescue to get her take on things since she had been working on it for awhile. On 12/30/25 I went out canvassed the area no sighting of the dog. I met with Sue Set my trap, and continued to wait. I was making my final round for the evening and was going to close up the trap for the night, when i ran right into this poor little skinny boy. As it turns out he was very skiddish but absolutely LOVED the gas station cheeseburger 🍔I had with me. We quickly became acquainted over that cheeseburger. I was able to lure him to one of the traps nearby, and allowed him space to follow the cheeseburger trail 😁. HAPPY to report 6hrs after getting there, we had him! No more cold days and nights with no shelter and no food, no more feeling lost, scared and 🥺 lonely. Sue helped to load him into my vehicle and came to my shelter to make sure he was secure. Just wanted to give an update and say THANK YOU to all involved this really was a GROUP EFFORT. And to the Shell station on Rt 150 in COAL VALLEY you just might have the BEST BURGER around. 😉!

Annabell's brother Aaron Connor Oliver came to pick her up to return to the North Pole. Santa said our reports were so good we landed on the"NICE" list, Santa sent a ton of gifts for the animals. Below is some Of Annabelle's final shenanigans, and Annabelle showing Aaron around. They tried to sneak a kitten home with them, but Santa said NO 😉
