Asphalt can reach 150°F when the air is only 85°F. That's hot enough to cause burns in seconds.

Quick Test: Place the back of your hand on the pavement for 5 seconds. If you can't keep it there, neither can your dog.

Summer is officially here and so is the heat.

Pets can overheat quickly, especially flat-faced breeds, senior pets, and those with thick coats. Watch for:

- Heavy panting
- Excessive drooling
- Lethargy and/or weakness
- Vomiting

If you notice these signs, move your pet to a cool area and call us right away.

With the 4th of July coming up, many pets become frightened by fireworks and may accidentally run away from home. Now is the perfect time to make sure your pet has permanent identification to help them get back to you safely. ❤️
