π YWCA Quad Cities Youth Career Fair is Back! π
ThePlace2B is excited to host its third annual Youth Career Fair, giving local youth the opportunity to explore a wide range of career paths and summer job opportunities β all in one place!
Representatives will be on-site to discuss career pathways, job requirements, and available summer positions.
β¨ This event is FREE and open to all youth in the Quad Cities area.
π New This Year: Career Readiness Workshop
In partnership with the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce, weβre hosting a Career Readiness Workshop prior to the fair to help youth feel confident and prepared.

π€ On Mondays from 12-2pm, SAL Community Services will have drop-in hours at the East Moline Public Library. This is a free service and does not require health insurance.
SAL can assist with:
- Accessing childcare for children 6 weeks-12 years old
- Accessing childcare for non-traditional hours of care, nights and weekends
- Information about how to become a licensed childcare provider
- Information and support with applying for and eligibility for the Illinois Child Care - Assistance Program (Illinois CCAP)
- Enrollment in our Prevention Initiative program (for children 0-3 years old in Rock Island County)
- Enrollment in our Early Head Start program (for pregnant moms and children birth-age 3 in Rock Island, Henry, and Mercer counties)
- Enrollment in our IDHS home-visiting program (for children 0-5 years old in Rock Island County. IDHS is ideal for parents that may not be working or going to school and donβt necessarily need childcare for their children)

This is an open community resource closet available to all local organizations and community members.
There are no requirements, restrictions, or qualifications to receive services.
π Food & clothing available β no questions asked.
π PRAYER services will be available upstairs during these hours for anyone needing additional assistance or support.

Community in Action β January Impact Update
So far this January, 144 community members, including several local organizations, have utilized the QC Forward Nonprofit Open Community Resource Closet.
From accessing essential items to supporting individuals and families in need, this space continues to be a place where our community comes together to lift one another up. Every visit represents connection, care, and forward movement for the Quad Cities.
Thank you to everyone who has donated, volunteered, shared our mission, or partnered with us β your support makes this impact possible.

βΌοΈ QC Forward inside River City Church Uptown Community Resource Closet will be open to the public for walk-ins this Saturday, January 10th, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. All other times are available by appointment only for donation drop-off or pickup. This is an open community resource closet available to all local organizations for inventory or community members with no requirements. Donation drop-offs can be accepted during open hours or at a scheduled time. For further information or to make an appointment, please send a message directly to the QC Forward page.
