Mama Tried

New York was finally one for the books on the Buddy Racing Vans Yamaha for 2018. We got to New York after 12 hours of driving and we couldn’t have felt any better coming into that race after some bad luck at Lima. We took the bike off of the Van pretty close to being ready as well qualified 10th overall for a 2nd week in a row. Our heat race we got a terrible start and ended up 6th putting us on the second row for the semi. Our semi we got a great jump and set sail as we were battling for 6th the whole way to the checkers. After many problems this year and finally figuring out stuff out this time we made the main event in Weedsport. In the main our setup was a little off as I was very excited to get in the main. We needed up 15th overall but it’s a great start for a big leap we are about to accomplish. Thank you to everybody who helps out for the team Buddy Racing, Vans Yamaha (Van Hammel), Vita Coco, Core Hydration, Barrel Brands, Wonderful Pistachios, Hess Machine, Motion Pro, Gaerne USA, Rekluse, Vortex, Aggressive Graphics, and anybody else who has helped us this year.

Long weekend of AFT racing in the books. MRG2 and Buddy Racing had some ups and downs in Springfield. We finished one spot outside looking in for the Springfield TT main on Saturday. Unlucky to be sitting in a transfer spot and get caught up in another rider crash with no where to go. Unavoidable and all part of racing. After the restart, we just couldn't make it back up. Fail Fast and Forget!!

The mile brought some much needed and well deserved confidence. MRG2 on a twin at THE Springfield Mile for the very first time thanks to Kevin Stollings Jr. Amanda Hibbard-Stollings Jerry Stinchfield Big Kev and the entire Stollings team/family. Thank you! We are very grateful for the opportunity.

He rode it like he had been there before. I guess we were the only ones nervous about it...cuz if he was...it didnt show. Great ride and performance to continue to build on. Consistency is key and he continued on his qualifying position by finishing 5th overall in the main. Great ride kid!

Very proud of how well MRG2 is handling the adversity and always continuing to learn and to strive to get better and better each time out.

Round 4 of American Flat Track was interesting to say the least. We started off practice feeling pretty well and fast as we ended up 19th after our first ever session in the track. After qualifying was all over our best times set us at 19th again with a 2nd row start in our heat. In the heat my start was probably the worst one I’ve ever had in my whole entire time racing. We were then on the 3rd row for the semi and after making a couple great moves we once again ended up a couple spots out of the main. We are getting faster and faster, once we find our groove we will be up in the thick of things. Qualified for the show at Daytona International Speedway. We gotta make some adjustments heading into the heats to match up to the level of competition. 63 of the fastest riders down to 48 after qualifying.

Top 11 in each heat and down to 33 for the two semi-finals.

Top 9 from each semi-final to the mains.

Back on the track today and tomorrow at DuQuoin State Fairgrounds Racetrack.
