This week, I celebrate my fellow nephrology and dialysis nurses—the ones who understand that dialysis nursing is so much more than running a treatment. 🩺

We monitor, assess, educate, advocate, troubleshoot, encourage, and sometimes simply sit beside our patients when they need someone to listen. We celebrate the good lab results, worry when something doesn’t look right, and build relationships with patients we see week after week, year after year. 💕

After many years in nursing, nephrology has taught me so much—not only about kidneys, fluid, electrolytes, and access care, but also about patience, compassion, resilience, and the value of life.

To all my fellow nephrology nurses: thank you for showing up, even on the busiest and most challenging days. Your knowledge, dedication, and heart make a difference every single treatment. 💚

And to our patients—thank you for trusting us with your care. 🙏

Today, we remember Mary not only as the Mother of Jesus, but as a mother who knew the deepest kind of sorrow. 🕊️

Michelangelo’s beautiful Pietà captures this so powerfully—Our Blessed Mother holding the lifeless body of her Son after He was taken down from the Cross. 💔✝️

I can only imagine the pain in her heart. She carried Jesus in her womb, held Him as a baby, watched Him grow…and then held Him once again after His suffering and death.

Yet even in unimaginable sorrow, Mary remained faithful. She stayed. She trusted. She loved. 🙏

Today, I bring to Our Lady of Sorrows all the pains we carry quietly—the grief, worries, disappointments, and struggles within our families.

Our Lady of Sorrows, teach us to remain close to Jesus even when life hurts. Comfort every grieving heart, protect our families, strengthen our faith, and lead us always to your Son. 💙
