Modesto City Schools’ Open Plan Program started in the Fall of 1976 with four teachers and 99 students at Fremont School. This alternative program was established as a school within a school for any family within the district who wanted their children to attend. The program was and is maintained under the same funding resources, academic standards, conduct code and legal criteria as other schools

Fremont Open Plan is Modesto City Schools’ public alternative education program for kindergarten through sixth grade, housed on the Fremont Elementary School campus.
Parent participation and cross age partnering are essential components of the program. To be eligible for the 2022-2023 kindergarten enrollment lottery, or to learn more about Fremont Open Plan, parents and guardians must visit the Fremont Elementary School Office to register for a tour and sign up to attend two parent sessions.

When: Register January 10-28, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
