✨Mural Alley Update + Community Workshop✨

Art lovers, have no fear! The murals in Mural Alley are not being removed! This project is about improving the space around them—not taking them away.

The City of Modesto and DoMo Partnership are hosting a community workshop to talk about planned upgrades to Mural Alley better lighting, permeable pavers, trash enclosures, signage, and other improvements that will make Mural Alley feel safer, brighter, and more welcoming—while preserving the art that makes it special.

This is a workshop, and we truly want community feedback. If you care about public art, downtown Modesto, and the future of Mural Alley, we hope you’ll join the conversation.

Have you seen the new mural across the pedestrian bridge in what we lovingly call Mural Alley? 🎨✨ We’ve been calling this space Mural Alley for quite some time, so seeing the name officially painted on the bridge feels like a perfect reflection of the creativity and character this alley has grown into.

This piece was created by the incredibly talented Sam Dominguez, a local artist with whom we’ve had the pleasure of working previously through DoMo Walls. Supporting local talent is at the heart of what we do, and Sam was a natural choice to help bring this vision to life.

This mural is just one of the many ways we’re working to beautify and uplift downtown Modesto. And if you pass through Mural Alley soon, you’ll catch Sam hard at work on another mural along the Beauty Building side of the alley—trust us, this one is going to be grand. 👀🔥

The program helps communities harness their unique cultural assets to stimulate local economies, attract tourism, preserve historic sites, and support vibrant, inclusive creative economies.

These chosen districts demonstrate at the highest level the cultural legacy of our state's most valuable resource—its diversity.

Have you heard about upcoming show on Friday, October 10th? 🎶 They’re taking the stage at Prospect Theater for the first time — and it’s shaping up to be a great night of live music downtown.
