This Sunday during Pastor Damian’s message from Mark 1:29-39 “Jesus’ Lesson About ‘A Solitary Place’ ” he recommended Our Daily Bread as a resource for growing in our devotional lives with the Lord.

In terms of a devotional time with the Lord, the Daily Bread booklet is a great resource in that it gives you a passage to read from the scriptures,  a short teaching, a devotional thought related to that, a thought to take away from that passage to meditate upon during the day, and then a sample prayer related to that devotional thought. It also gives a plan for reading through the scriptures in the course of the year.

So it’s a great little resource for establishing this solitary time with the Lord as a part of our lives.
