For Bruce, joining HopeWorks was about something simple but meaningful: giving back to his community.

Since becoming part of the HopeWorks team, Bruce has been working toward greater stability, with a goal of finding permanent housing while continuing to save money. Along the way, he has also appreciated the range of support and flexibility that HopeWorks has provided him.

Bruce believes others in the community can benefit from HopeWorks because the program offers more than just work—it provides different kinds of support and a welcoming place to keep moving forward.

Our HopeWorks teams recently had the opportunity to come together and celebrate their hard work, dedication, and achievements—not only throughout the City of Modesto, but also in their personal lives.

Since HopeWorks began in January 2026, our teams have removed more than 80,000 pounds of trash from throughout Modesto. And just this week alone, our crews removed more than 3,000 pounds from our community!

We are incredibly proud of everything our HopeWorks teams have accomplished and the difference they continue to make in our city.
Great job, HopeWorks! Keep up the amazing work!
