It’s one thing to talk about great programs, it’s another to see them in action! Yesterday was an amazing day touring local industry partners through the Patterson High School Supply Chain & Logistics program and the Ceres High School Manufacturing, Production & Green Technology Academy.
These are two shining examples of high-quality Career Technical Education in our county! Trips like this are so important. It’s not just about students learning from professionals—it's also about professionals learning what’s happening in our schools and meeting the incredible students and educators shaping the future.
A huge thank you to Patterson High and Ceres High for welcoming us and sharing your incredible work!

Last week, SPIE had a powerful day of learning and connection in the Central Valley. Our visit began at Fresno Unified School District's Erma Duncan Polytechnical High School, where we explored the innovative Medical Academy of Science and Health (MASH) and Innovative Design and Applied Technology Academy (IDATA) programs that prepare students for high-demand careers in health and applied technology.

Next, we traveled to Madera Unified School District's Madera T.E.C campus, where we learned how the district is embedding early career exposure beginning as early as 6th grade. The commitment to hands-on, career-connected learning was evident throughout the day.

We were joined by representatives from Stanislaus 2030, Pacific Southwest Container, Saputo, San Joaquin A+, Modesto City Schools, Ceres Unified School District, and Stanislaus County Office of Education—thank you all for being part of the experience.

Special thanks to Jeff Delong from FUSD and Kristin McKenna from MUSD for hosting us. We’re also grateful to County Supervisor Mani Grewal for making transportation possible and supporting this work to strengthen education and workforce pathways.

Career-connected learning is thriving in our region, and we’re excited to keep building momentum together.
