🎧June is Audiobook Month and we're celebrating! Join Booksellers for a June Audiobook Walk! 📚

We'll meet up in front of Bookish, walk the trail right behind us, and meet back at Bookish when you finish your walk! Walking is at your own pace and we'll have free brewed coffee when you get back! And we'll throw in some discounted espresso drinks as well!

Feel free to listen to any audiobook you would like or do a buddy walk AND read!

And don't forget, the first 10 attendees will get gifted a free audiobook credit from Libro.fm!

It's audiobook paint night... for kids!
This summer, we're bringing our most popular event to kids and families! We'll choose an audiobook geared for ages 8-12 and have kid-friendly paint kits on hand 🎨🖌

Your $15 ticket includes all paint and supplies; drinks and snacks will be available for purchase.

I'm digging into Bitter Honey: Big Ag's Threat to Bees and the Fight to Save Them by Jennie Durant. (We're hosting Jennie on Tuesday 6/2 @ 6:30 -- should be a great discussion!)

I'm also listening to Sarah Gailey's Make Me Better "... a seductive look at the desire for community connection and self-improvement--and the darkest places inside us all." I may be obsessed. - Paula

What about you?

Hey, Modesto! Bookish has been chosen as a host bookstore for Find Waldo Local 2026, a city-wide scavenger hunt in July that supports local businesses and provides summer fun for kids and families. We had so much fun doing this last year, and we hope you'll join us this year! At this time, we're looking for just a few more businesses to participate.

It works like this: you'll hide a "Waldo" in your store, help us spread the word about the scavenger hunt on social media, stamp passports for kids who find Waldo, and contribute toward printing costs/a prize for our July 31 final celebration.

To participate, you'll need to be:
- locally owned
- kid-friendly (babies on up!)
- open at least 5 days per week, with regular store hours

Starting June 2, stop by for your summer reading challenge!

It's a fun way to encourage reading for kids (and yourself!) -- especially with the prize at the end! Our partner is contributing a child's size yogurt coupon, or you can choose a free book from our reading challenge collection.
