Mark’s Gospel leaves us at the empty tomb with fear, uncertainty, and one big question: What happens next? Jesus is already going ahead, inviting His followers to meet Him there—to love whom He loves and join Him in His mission. Sometimes that mission takes us across the world. Sometimes the world has come across the street. As refugees rebuild their lives right here in Modesto, we have opportunities to offer friendship, hospitality, and the love of Christ. Where is Jesus inviting you to take a next step? Who might He be calling you to welcome?

Our staff retreat was a time of stepping away from the noise for intentional solitude with God, listening for His voice, lifting up praise, and encouraging one another as we sought the Holy Spirit's guidance and vision for what's ahead!!

God does not call the most qualified, He calls the available. Just as Elisha was interrupted in the middle of an ordinary workday, God still interrupts ordinary people today – teachers, parents, retirees, and business owners – inviting them into something greater. But before Elisha took one step forward, he burned his plow and left himself no way back. What is the plow in your life that is keeping you from fully saying yes to God?

Tomorrow morning, come worship with your church family, hear Sarah share God's Word, and hear firsthand how God worked through our Mexico Ministry Team in Saltillo. Then join us after first service, around 10:15 AM, as we celebrate with a piñata! 🪅
Pray: to exchange wishes; literally, to interact with the Lord by switching human wishes (ideas) for His wishes.
When you pray, are you mostly talking, or are you also leaving space to listen for what God might want to say back to you?
Holy Spirit, teach us to pause before we assume we know the plan. Exchange our wishes for Your wishes, and align our hearts with Your will today. Amen.
Looks like we're not the only thing under construction. 🚧
Our entrance may be getting a little work, but God is always at work in us too. As we grow to become more like Jesus, the process can be messy, slow, and sometimes a little bumpy, but it's always worth it.
So this Sunday, take it easy as you drive over our temporary dirt entrance, and come expectant. Ministry doesn't stop because of construction, and neither does God's work in our lives. See you Sunday! 🙌
We spend a lot of energy trying to avoid sin with our feet: avoiding certain places, or staying away from certain people. But our feet simply follow where our hearts already want to go.

What if the thing keeping you from stumbling is not your own willpower, but staying close enough to let God hold you steady? Jude reminds us that God is able to keep us from falling, but it requires us to build our faith actively, pray with the Holy Spirit, and show up for the people around us who are doubting. Are you building your faith, or just maintaining it?
