Beat the rush and pick up your bib number and t-shirt from 2-6 p.m., Friday, May 22, at the ShadowChase office, 1325 11th St., Modesto. You can also register for the events, but you won't receive a t-shirt.

MODESTO MEMORIAL CLASSIC FINAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR RACE DAY, MAY 23

• Arrive early on race day to avoid parking bottlenecks and to allow time for bathroom breaks, for packet pickup if you didn’t do it Friday and to get the lay of the land. We suggest 1 hour before the event starts.

• If you registered after May 12, you will NOT receive an event t-shirt. But ShadowChase Running Club will have a booth selling shirts from previous events.

• All paid registrants receive a pancake breakfast cooked by local veterans. Additional breakfasts are available for $5 each.

• Members of the Delta Vet Center would appreciate if all runners stay for the brief ceremony after the races. They plan to honor a local veteran, who has an amazing story.

• All events are held at East La Loma Park, 2001 Edgebrook Drive, Modesto. Parking is limited!! But thanks to the generosity of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, their parking lot at 731 El Vista Ave. will be open to runners. Please allow time to park and walk the few blocks to the race start.

Events support in part the Delta Vet Center, which helps returning area combat veterans and their families.

It is with deep sadness that we share the loss of one of our beloved club members this week to cancer. David Magana was not only a strong runner, he also had a strong desire not let a diagnosis change his way of life. Always telling a joke or sharing a story that made you laugh. He was tough in and out with a quiet positive attitude and he was not going to give up without a fight. He did fight for many years without complaint. We will miss you David. RIP🙏

His family asked that we share information about his services.
