Manteca Thunder Baseball

Another baseball weekend in the books. The boys did some good things on the field. Couple of dingers, couple of wins, couple of great plays and a couple of great pitching performances. They get better ever time out. Still much to work on but also much to be proud of.

Got the win tonight but most importantly we played good fundamental baseball. It's amazing what can happen when you throw strikes, play defense, and get a timely hit or two. Nice work fellas.

Beyond proud of our Thunder Baseball Team!!!!! We went into this weekend's tournament hoping for baseball success (we actually played quite well) but ended up getting a lesson from our players about what it means to be a true teammate. 2 innings into the weekend we lost one of our players for the season to a devastating leg injury. What we saw from our boys was a combination of kindness, compassion, care, sadness, and ultimately rallying for their teammate in the spirit of competition on the diamond. We were a play or two away from advancing to the championship game. That is more than a group of players. That is more than a team. That is brotherhood. That is the Thunder Family. This weekend and the rest of the season we play for #5.
