Happy Arbor Day! Earlier this month, I spent the afternoon with our Urban Forestry Department to learn more about the work they do to maintain trees in the city. 🌳 I had the opportunity to trim one of Mobile's most iconic trees, the Crichton Leprechaun Tree.

Nationally recognized by the Arbor Day Foundation as an official Tree City USA community, Mobile is known for its trees, and the canopy is a vital part of our city's heritage and beauty. Thank you to the Urban Forestry team for ensuring the city right-of-way is safe while preserving our trees for future generations!

Please join me in congratulating Cpl. James Mistrot, our Officer of the Month for March 2026! He has served with the Mobile Police Department for over 10 years.

Last month, Cpl. Mistrot recovered 60 packages and $2,884.06 while investigating an Amazon delivery driver who had been diverting packages to his residence. Cpl. Mistrot, thank you for your hard work and dedication to our community! 👏

If you live on or frequent the Peninsula of Mobile, we encourage you to help shape the future of a very exciting project in the area. Our survey for the Perch Creek Preserve Park District closes today, so please take a few moments to share your feedback: https://forms.office.com/r/YPTDDEYxVs

Over the past several years, we’ve preserved nearly 190 acres of waterfront property along Perch Creek, and our vision is to create a connected network of parks that expands public access to these incredible natural resources. Community feedback is a critical part of that process, and your input will help guide how these spaces are designed and used for years to come. 🌊
