Majestic silence in motion.”
At the end of 2022, we went on our first safari in South Africa—an unforgettable adventure in Sabi Sands, where we stayed at the beautiful Nkorho Bush Lodge. Within the first couple of days, we saw the Big Five, but it was the quiet encounters—like this giraffe moving ever so gently through the bush—that stayed with me.
There’s something deeply humbling about watching wildlife in its natural environment . No barriers. No noise. Just the weight of the moment, I even used my camera some.

The Sky Remembers
Okuma Beach, Okinawa – 2021
This was one of our last trips to Okuma before we left Okinawa. A storm was brewing—thick, moody clouds stretched across the horizon. But the sunset broke through just enough to gift us a surreal moment: the crescent moon glowing above, stars and planets quietly joining in.
The air, the food, the way of life—we miss it all. This night was one of the best we had on the island. The sky seemed to know we were leaving… and it gave us something to remember.

Mobile Firefall
Mobile Bay, 2022
We had just returned from Okinawa at the end of 2021. One evening, we crossed the bay to catch the sunset. The sky lit up like it was on fire, spilling molten gold across the water.
This was one of the last frames I took that night—
a reminder that sometimes beauty shows up when you’re still, watching, and open.

The Weight of Light
Mobile Bay, 2022
We returned from Okinawa to Mobile at the end of 2021. One evening, we crossed the bay just to watch the sunset. The water was calm, the sky quiet—and for a moment, everything slowed down.
I took a few shots, but this one stayed with me.
A quiet echo of transition. A stillness I didn’t know I needed.

I didn’t expect the driest place on Earth San Pedro de Atacama to feel so alive.
Atacama was more than a destination—it was a surreal canvas. Think Dalí but with a camera. The desert stretched on forever, painted in rich earth tones, with the bold blue of the sky and the stark whites of distant salt and snow capped mountains.
Every texture, every shadow, every burst with bright light and subtle shadows whispered poetry. There was silence here that made you feel small—beautifully, humbly small. And the colors? They didn’t just exist. They spoke
I came for the landscapes. I left inspired.

I went outside the other day and captured this.
God’s creation is unreal, but very real.

When we lived in Germany several years ago, we had the chance to go to Paris a few times and other parts of France. On one trip to Paris we went to the Musee d’ Orsay. This is a shot of the clock in the museum and the second one is a shot of Basilique du Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre through the clock.
Originally part of the Gare d’Orsay railway station, the famous clock dates back to 1900. The station was built for the 1900 Exposition Universelle, showcasing the latest architectural and technological innovations. The clock, designed to keep travelers punctual, quickly became an iconic feature of the building.

When we were on Safari at Nkorho Bush Lodge in Sabi Sands in South Africa just south of Kruger National Park. It’s a private game reserve where we saw the Big 5 in the first 2 days there. We saw this majestic lion peacefully, half-napping as he kept watch over his pride of females and cubs. His wise, battle-worn face speaks of many seasons in the wild, with a mane that reflects both his power and experience. Even in repose, his piercing gaze and regal presence command attention. A true king of the savannah, savoring a moment of calm. When I photograph people and animals I always shoot the eyes. You get so much more about the subject this way.

Fuji-San dominates the skyline in and around Tokyo. This picture was taken during the colder months when we lived on mainland Japan, back in 2010 and 2011. Fuji-San is an extremely imposing icon. Snow-covered slopes appear to cascade down in smooth, soft layers, with dark shadows and cracks that add depth and texture to the volcanic ridges. The dense, bare trees that contrast against the pale, snow-laden mountain, gives a sense of scale and distance. The sky is overcast with a grainy, muted tone, enhancing the sense of solitude and grandeur. This scene gives a feeling that Fuji-San is serene, yet powerful, Fuji-San is a reminder of the Japanese people’s traditions, peace and cultural timelessness.

On one of our longest trips ever, we spent almost 30 days traveling. When we lived in Okinawa we traveled to Nepal, Tibet and then because we were passing through India on the way back to Okinawa, we decided to spend 8 days and take a tour with G Adventures. We explored the Golden Triangle in the North West past of the country.
Built in 1592, the Amber Fort in Rajasthan, India, stands as a remarkable testament to architectural splendor and historical significance. Perched majestically on the rugged hills, its imposing walls and towers have witnessed centuries of history.
Constructed by Raja Man Singh I, a trusted general of Emperor Akbar, the fort's sturdy sandstone walls conceal a world of opulence and grandeur within. The fort's distinctive blend of Rajput and Mughal architectural styles showcases the cultural fusion of the era, with intricate frescoes, ornate domes, and meticulously designed courtyards.
The fort's strategic location offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, including the picturesque Maota Lake, creating a breathtaking backdrop for its beauty. The Sheesh Mahal, or "Palace of Mirrors," within the fort is a dazzling masterpiece, adorned with countless reflective glass pieces that illuminate the romantic history of the royal courts.

On a visit to Chitwan National Park. While looking for rhino, this majestic deer appeared out of nowhere.

On one trip to Kuala Lumpur, I visited the Petronas Twin Towers. This incredible piece of architecture is a work of art. It’s downtown KL and tied to a massive mall. KL is an extremely welcoming city and Malaysia as a whole. The people are friendly and the food has so much flavor. This is a must visit city!
