Big changes are coming to Azalea City Golf Course! ⛳ This morning, the Mobile City Council approved a purchase to install a geofencing system at the course. This new Tagmarshal Golf Cart GPS system will allow us to track golf carts in the case of an emergency and prevent them from driving on sensitive areas.
Last week, the City Council also approved a contract with Richard Mandell Golf Architecture to create a masterplan to improve Azalea City's operations and course. This consultant will evaluate everything from drainage and paths to the course's management and design.
Thank you to the team at Azalea City Golf Course and the City of Mobile Parks and Recreation Department for working toward these much-needed upgrades. The MUNI has been Mobile's hometown golf course for over 50 years, and I'm excited to see it thrive into the future. 🎉
