The Internal Revenue Service will start accepting and processing tax returns in two weeks, the agency announced.

Tax season will officially start Monday, Jan. 27. The IRS expects more than 140 million individual returns for tax year 2024 to be filed ahead of the April 15 deadline. The agency began accepting returns via IRS Free File on Jan. 10 but they won’t be processed until the official start date.

IRS releases tax inflation adjustments for tax year 2025 | Internal Revenue Service IR-2024-273, Oct. 22, 2024 — The Internal Revenue Service announced today the annual inflation adjustments for tax year 2025.

Senate Bill 209 expands the current state income tax exemption for military pay to include certain compensations of members of the National Guard and Reserve and those members who are deployed outside of the Unites States or activated to support certain emergencies.

House Bill 358 involves Child Care and workforce development.

This law will essentially improve childcare options for working parents, by creating the employer tax credit, childcare provider tax credit, and non-profit childcare provider grant and to make legislative findings.

Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) reporting requirements include:
Reporting entities
All LLCs, corporations, and other entities created by filing a document with a secretary of state or equivalent office must file a BOI report, unless they qualify for an exemption. Nonprofits are exempt from BOI reporting. Deadline extended to Jan. 13th, 2025.
