Remember, children are only little for a little while, then they spend the whole rest of their lives being big! There is no substitute for time spent with you. They love you and you’re their favorite! So, read a story, make one up together, put on some music and dance silly, or go outside and take a walk and talk to each other. Make time together a habit they treasure.

If you plan for your child to attend prek in a public school. Here is the schedule. You may attend any screening to get qualified. Children who were accepted to our preK do not need at attend a screening, we will do this at orientation:)

Only two more screenings are available for parents looking to get their child a spot in an MCPSS Pre-K classroom in the 2025-26 school year. Screening is a required step in the pre-registration process for most MCPSS Pre-K classrooms. For more info, visit mcpss.com/Pre-K.

Last Friday, we conducted our drawing for First Class PreK for the 2025-2026 School Year. Be sure and check your emails for a notification of your child's selection. Ms. Ashley also has a list in the office of all children selected, as well as waitlist placements. If you have questions, please email Ms. Ann ([email protected]) or talk to Ms. Ashley. You have 7 days from receipt of email to respond and let us know if you accept/decline a slot with us. Thank you all who applied.

We will be holding our drawing for our Pre K Class on Friday at 12:30. Make sure you have gone online to apply. Look for Mid City ELC in the list of options. We will draw 18 children. We already have over 50 applications submitted. You must go online to have a shot at a slot for next year.
