Nominating Committee for Deacons and Elders:

Have you ever wanted to serve this congregation in a special way? Felt a desire to “give” a little more than just a pledge? We are currently in the process of listening to the Church’s voices for upcoming 2027 Diaconate and Elders. If you would like to serve in that capacity and have been a member of SHPC for more than one year, please reach out to Trey Morvant, Nickelle Stoll, Maria Brutkewicz, Bronte Dixon or Cindy Campbell. If you know of a member that would be great in this capacity and want to suggest their name, please contact any of the above committee members. Thank you for helping to make God’s House a place where ALL are Welcome!

VBS NEEDS Volunteers Our Rainforest Falls VBS will be from 8:30-12:00 Monday-Thursday, July 20-23. We have station leaders for the activities but need a few more Crew Leaders to es**rt your designated group of children through their station rotation and stay with them during the activities. It’s a great way to get to know the kids and see the fun! Adults and older youth are welcome to be Crew Leaders. We also need volunteers in the pre-K. A snack leader is needed to coordinate the snack section each day. In addition, the Bible section leaders volunteers to be actors to help tell the bible stories. Please let Karen Dungan know if you are interested: (573) 310-9171, or [email protected]. The hours spent at VBS qualify for service hours for your school.

From John Hutchinson

I first met David Marsh in 2018 when he was relatively unknown in the concert world. I heard him play on the former 20th Century Fox Studio Wurlitzer organ (now
installed in a state-of-the-art private recording studio) and he wowed everyone.
Shortly after, I asked him if he'd be interested in coming to Georgia to play a Christmas Pops concert on my newly built digital organ and he quickly accepted the
invitation. At that program, he had everyone in stitches from his interactions with the audience and absolutely blown away by his virtuosic technique. It was one of the most entertaining and well-played programs I had heard in years.

Shortly after, David began playing in large venues across the country for various theater organ organizations including multiple appearances for the hugely popular concerts on the outdoor organ (yes, there is such a thing) at Balboa Park in San Diego, CA. These days, it's hard to keep up with where David is performing next.

But through his meteoric rise as a sought after concert artist, he always said, "Absolutely!" when I called him to return to Georgia where he played for us three times. When I was getting ready to move to Mobile, he was quick to ask when he could come visit, and my friends, the time is here!

David will be performing on the Hutchinson Organ in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, June 14 at 2 PM and then we will have an ice cream social following.

We are suggesting a $10 donation ($20 maximum for a family) to help cover the costs of bringing David to the area, but we want everyone to come and en-joy the afternoon whether you feel led to donate or not. If you have enjoyed the programs we have presented so far, then as the saying goes, "you aint seen nothin' yet!" Boy, are we in for a REAL TREAT! You won't believe your ears!

See you at the concert on June 14 at 2 PM!
