Unity Luffas

It took us 3 years, but we finally produced our first gourd!!! ☺️

Sure it is good advice to measure twice and cut once. But you know what else would be helpful advice?? Place everything out where you want it before cutting it in case you change your mind when you see how things fit in the space, that way you don’t have to go buy more lumber. 🤣

Progress!!

We have a few little, baby sproutlings!!! There has been so much rain that we haven’t been able to do much of anything with the other parts of our gardens, but it was so rewarding to go out there today and see those bright green leaves popping through the dirt!! 🌱💚🌱

Tea for the Tillerwoman. ☕️

“She said she wanted ALL the soil that they have. It isn’t my fault they restocked...figure out how to get all that in the car.” 🤣

Christy has gotten a ton of tilling done for our vegetable beds!! More lumber has been procured, so our next steps are to build our raised beds, get our soil, manure, and worm castings in, and get those seeds into the ground!! That is, if Binx will consent to let us finish working. 😉

It feels good to have finally gotten our “babies” into the ground. We can’t wait to watch them grow!!

A lot got done yesterday!! Lumber was procured, cut, and put in place. Feeling the clock ticking on getting seeds in the ground, when we had trouble putting the actual bed together, we settled for putting everything in place and vowing to work on that “later.” We carried on full speed ahead with our soil mix, and managed to get our luffa seeds in the ground before the sun went down!!

Our seeds have been soaking and are almost ready to go in the ground!!

Talk about throwing a wrench in our plans... or throwing a chunk of concrete in them!! But today we have it back up and running!!
