Two special experiences. One exciting morning.
Join us Saturday, June 6, from 9–10 AM for Sensory Day and a Member Preview of The Animation Academy!
🧩 Sensory Day
Sensory sensitive and special needs guests can enjoy Hands-On Hall, Curiosity Factory, and Wharf of Wonder with reduced sound levels, lower lighting, sensory-friendly science demos, and a low-volume showing of Superpower Dogs at 10:20.
During Sensory Day hours, guests of all ages are welcome in Wharf of Wonder.
(The Animation Academy and Tiny Titans exhibit will be available to all at 10 AM due to our Member Preview event coinciding with Sensory Day.)
🎬 Member Preview: The Animation Academy
Exploreum members can get a first look at our newest exhibit, The Animation Academy, before it opens to all guests. Members can also enjoy a free film of their choice, Superpower Dogs or Space: The New Frontier, all day long.
(Hands-On Hall, Curiosity Factory, and the Wharf of Wonder will be available to all at 10:00 AM due to our Sensory Day coinciding with our Member Preview event.)

A fun day at the Exploreum and a little extra peace of mind. 💙
On Saturday, June 6, New York Life Insurance Company will be providing FREE child identification cards for families visiting the Exploreum. Each card includes a child’s photo, fingerprints, and other important identifying information for parents and guardians to keep.

Relive the nostalgia of Saturday mornings in the PCI Digital Dome Theater with classic cartoon favorites, included with general admission.
🐾 Superpower Dogs
Back by popular demand, this film follows real-life canine heroes making a difference around the world and proves that not all heroes wear capes… some wear collars!
It’s a summer packed with creativity, adventure, and imagination.✨
One last 21st century stop before Galileo heads home… ☕️✨

We may not be a traditional museum, but hands-on exploration, curiosity, and a little chaos are kind of our thing. Our mission is to encourage excellence in STEM education and make the excitement of scientific discovery accessible across the Gulf Region.

Everyone give it up for our next Employee of the Month: Maggie, our Gulf Coast box turtle! 🐢
As our MVP Animal Ambassador, Maggie represents the Exploreum through Science on the Go visits, meeting guests, and her signature slow-and-steady charm.
The Gulf Coast box turtle is the largest box turtle species in North America, and Maggie fully lives up to the title. She specializes in bug quality control, outdoor patrols, and winning over everyone she meets. She’s even built quite the fanbase, receiving custom artwork from one of her biggest supporters. 🎨✨
She’s generously compensated with shell petting, enrichment adventures, and plenty of sunbathing breaks during office hours.
Let’s hear it for Maggie and her outstanding service! 👏
