June is Wound Care Awareness Month, and our Wound and Hyperbaric Center is marking it in a meaningful way — with pinwheels. Each one outside our center represents a patient who completed their healing journey with us this month. It's a small, bright symbol of something profound.

Chronic wounds affect more people than most realize — one in four American families has a member living with one. Our center heals approximately one chronic wound every single day, with results that reflect the team's extraordinary dedication:
93% Heal Rate
Median Healing Time of just 24 days
97.5% Patient Satisfaction.

Behind every statistic is a person who arrived with pain and uncertainty — and left whole. We are not simply closing wounds. We are restoring independence, relieving suffering, and improving lives.

As the pinwheels multiply outside our doors this month, we invite you to join us in celebrating the team making it happen, one wound at a time.

If you are living with a chronic wound (wound lingering for more than 4-12 weeks), call our Wound & Hyperbaric Center at 406-327-4514

Happy Pride Month Missoula! Our team was proud to march in the Pride Parade this weekend, showing up for our patients, neighbors, and colleagues.

Studies show LGBTQ populations experience health disparities and barriers despite having the same basic health needs as the general population. Many avoid or delay care because they are worried about discrimination. At Community Medical Center our Safe With Me Program is designed to create a welcoming, supportive and safe environment for the LGBTQ+ community inside our walls. We have doctors and staff who have taken specific training and have signed up to be allies to help members of the LGBTQ+ community feel more comfortable seeking care.

Starting July 6, we're offering StepOne Service™ — a new voluntary inpatient medical detox program for adults who need safe, medically supervised support to withdraw from alcohol or opioids.

Patients self-refer and work with a program coordinator throughout the process. Hospital-based care is provided by our physicians and nurses. The program is covered by most insurance, including Medicare & Medicaid with payment plans available.

Nearly 79,000 Montanans are living with a substance use disorder. Withdrawal isn't just uncomfortable — it can be medically dangerous. This program exists so that when someone is ready to take that first step, we're here to help them take it safely.

Army flight medic recalls 32 years of helicopter rescue missions 06/05/2026

We are proud to spotlight one of our own — Amanda Sell, RN, our Patient Advocate and Risk Manager here at Community Medical Center!

Amanda recently received a well-deserved feature in the Missoulian as part of AARP's Stories of Honor series. A Missoula native and proud member of a military family, Amanda served 32 years as an Army flight medic with the Montana National Guard — flying medevac missions in Kuwait and Iraq, performing search-and-rescue operations across the American West, and rising through all nine enlisted ranks to become the first female First Sergeant of the 163rd Infantry BN.

After retiring from the military, Amanda's love of medicine led her back to school. She earned her nursing degree from Carroll College and brought her extraordinary dedication to patient care right here to Community Medical Center.

We are honored to have someone of Amanda's character and experience advocating for our patients every day. Please join us in celebrating her remarkable service — to our country and to our community.
