The Buckner FAYS program hosted a fun-filled Bowling with Dad event on June 18. We were excited to have families from the Buckner Family Hope Center at Donna join us! A total of 57 individuals attended, including 19 awesome dads, for an evening of strikes, smiles, and quality family time.

Today is Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Jubilee Day. It marks the day in 1865 when Union Gen. Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, and read federal orders announcing that enslaved people were free. That announcement came two years after President Lincoln had signed the Emancipation Proclamation on New Year’s Day 1863.

Buckner Rio Grande Valley recently hosted a hygiene drive. Over 668 individuals were served at this event!
Not only did attendees receive necessary hygiene products, but collaborating organizations also supplied education to families about children’s Medicaid, helping raise awareness and access to essential healthcare resources.

The Buckner FAYS Program hosted a fun-filled "Zoo-per Dad Day" at Gladys Porter Zoo! With 41 attendees, this special fatherhood event celebrated dads and their little ones with a day of connection, laughter, and wild adventure. Thank you to all the families who joined us!

Last weekend, Buckner FAYS program and the Buckner Family Hope Center jointly hosted the Fishing with Dad event at the Tres Lagos Park Pavilion. 27 individuals joined us for a morning of quality bonding time and outdoor fun. Each participant received a fishing rod and a raffle ticket for a chance to win exciting raffle prizes. The event aimed to strengthen father-child relationships while promoting positive family engagement in a relaxed, nature-filled setting.
