When days are filled with uncertainty, I press on. I bury my doubt and fear in activities to keep my mind off the unknown. I have to remind myself that weakness can be equivalent to strength. Time to press on and ignore the aches, the pains, the brain fog and exhaustion because today i choose to fight.
F U MS and this infection that’s causing life to be difficult.

I’ve returned from vacation and getting back on Gilenya tomorrow. Hoping all goes well and that the medication can keep my MS in check 🤞. I’ve had a few flare ups that were likely exacerbated from the lack of sleep over the course of this year but working out has helped me considerably. My relapses are shorter even without medication but now it’s time to get back on meds and I’m hoping for no relapses over the next year.
Here we go world.
Finally, I’ve been able to be consistent with my workouts and it’s really paying off! Even after a relapse, the flu, and the challenge and my strong effort at Burn Boot Camp - Eden Prairie, MN has resulted in enough transformation ALREADY that my pants were falling down and my favorite sports bra is too large for cardio days!
🎆🎇🌠 💥
The struggle is real when you can barely get out of your sports bra!

So my sister suggested I post more about the fact that I have MS. So here is a RANT .
What’s the hardest thing about having MS, you ask?
Wait... you didn’t ask but I’m gonna tell you
How about that it is an “invisible” disease and sometimes so invisible that those closest to you ‘forget’ because you appear normal. They forget because you try so fu***ng hard to be normal, try to forget you have something scary. To conquer every day s**t just like everyone else except there is always the risk, the unknown of when the next relapse or episode will be. Constant underlying uncertainty. No treatment is perfect. You don’t fu***ng know when it’s going to hit. You just live. . I call bulls**t ( I’m so tired of hearing this hashtag).
For instance, I was slaying at the gym and trying to make plans with people weeks out on the calendar. You know, ADULTING... when all the sudden the bottom of my feet went numb... great. I know what this is... Why didn’t this happen while I was only getting a few hours of sleep (infant in the house)? Why now?! 😤 FML. I just PR’d on my DL!
Time to take action.
Place Crossfit membership on hold because lifting above my head is NOT happening. There isn’t enough help there... or maybe I’m too insecure to ask for someone to spot me every time I lift above my head. Maybe it was one of the trainers talking s**t about me to another member (not realizing I was just around the corner). Maybe, it was just the first thing I could think of to do. Maybe I’m bitter, hurt, confused, hormonal. Main point, Who knows how long this would last?
Call the Neuro- need steroids. NOW.
Embark on road to self pity.
Say f**k it. Sign up for a different gym challenge and get others to join me. Now I have a tribe!
Steroids kick in! I feel amazing!
I have to kinda abruptly wean my daughter. Sorry baby C. Mama needs to come 1st this time. Sadness sets back in. The feeling in my feet is coming back. Whoo! Have a girl’s night with a friend and Stay up WAY TOO LATE but didn’t drink to get drunk. Go to the gym and celebrate 6 days in a row! Go to brunch, catch the stomach flu by 8:30 pm. F**k.
Feeling in my feet disintegrates. I’m exhausted. I’m 💩 and 🤮. Sleep all day then take 2 days off work so they don’t get the flu from me.
I just want to get back to the gym where I can feel “normal” and get back to my tribe 💙. Get back to my routine. Because fitness makes things better when it’s in the right environment. It keeps me sane. It helps me to continue being an awesome giving parent. It helps balance me. I need a constant. It helps me to NOT lose my s**t on people, sorry babe... you aren’t people. I’ll likely always lose my s**t with you because you are my rock and I know, I mean, I NEED you to handle it.
Point is - MS sucks and it sucks more when you are the individual that suffers with it. You don’t get it and that’s okay. But maybe you could just remember that it is an affliction. I’m not looking for kid gloves, here. Just maybe some memory on your part because mine is double-effed now that I have a baby and MS! 🤪

Postpartum return has begun!
I’m starting out with Core De Force. Today was day 2. Dynamic Strength... o my core is seriously lacking, which is to be expected after 🤰.
I learned something new today and think it is definitely worth sharing!
o The supplement astaxanthin, for example, is well-known for boosting natural resistance to sunburn.
o The more natural antioxidants you have in your diet, the more sunlight your skin will be able to handle without burning.
Antioxidant-rich foods include the following fruits and berries best eaten organically:
• Goji berries, acai berries, blueberries, blackberries, cranberries, raspberries, pomegranates, strawberries, cherries, raisins, prunes and apples. Chocolate, coffee and pecans are also good sources of antioxidants.

Fitness isn't easy, it's like a job. If you don't go to work you don't get paid.
Fear and negative self-talk are 🔑 motivation killers. Stop killing your motivation! Be honest with yourself but not cruel. Set challenging but attainable goals. Stop making it so complicated.
