Matt Birk was born and raised in St. Paul. He attended Cretin-Derham Hall, and was a letterman and standout in football, basketball, and track & field.
He was an All-St. Paul Conference honoree, an Academic All-State honoree, and an All-State honoree in both football and basketball. Birk graduated from Cretin-Derham in 1994 and went on to play football at Harvard. A six-time NFL Pro Bowl Selection and two-time All Pro, Matt proved to be an undisputed leader on the field and was named the sixth smartest athlete by Sporting News. A graduate of Harv
