🍂🐾 MACC Pack Monday Sponsored Adoption Fee: Fall in Love with Sassy 🐾🍂

Sassy is a beautiful brindle Pit Bull Terrier mix who is affectionate, friendly, and full of love. Take her for a walk and she’s a cheerful companion, ready to enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of the season. When it’s time to head inside, she’s more than happy to curl up with her favorite people. We believe she may also be house trained as she has been keeping her kennel pretty clean in the mornings when volunteers take her out.

And yes, she has a little sassy side,but it’s reserved for other dogs! Sassy is looking for a home where she can be the ONLY DOG. She can be reactive and very assertive around other dogs, especially when she’s on leash or behind a barrier. She has no bite history, but she can be conflict prone and tends to overcorrect, so she’ll do best with plenty of space from canine companions. A home without cats is also recommended. Her history with children is unknown.

Sassy doesn’t need a house full of pets to be happy. She just needs her person. If you're looking for a sweet, energetic, affectionate girl who will happily soak up your love and give it right back, Sassy might be your perfect match.

MACC is open Monday- Friday from 1:00-5:30 PM for adoptions, and Saturday from 11:00- 2:30 PM. On Sunday's select MACC animals are available for adoption at PetSmart (The Quarry Location) from 11:00-2:00. Sassy is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.

What an incredible week of happy endings! Thanks to MACC Pack’s Sponsored Adoption Fees for our 2nd Borkday Celebration, 47 shelter animals found their forever families last week, 18 dogs and 29 cats! 🐶🐱

Every adoption represents a new beginning: a warm bed, a loving family, and a future filled with the care and companionship these animals deserve.

We are so grateful to everyone who helped make these adoptions possible. Your support truly changes lives ,one paw, one purr, and one forever home at a time.

Join us for an afternoon of gentle movement, sculpting, and furry friends at our second annual MACC Pack event! Dogs from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control will join you on the mat for this all ages, all abilities outdoor Pilates session led by Colleen D.

Your our registration includes admission to Octoberfest at The Marsh immediately following Pilates! 🍂🍺

A portion of proceeds supports MACC Pack and our work of enriching the lives of animals at Minneapolis Animal Care & Control.

MACC Pack Monday: Linkin Bark

In the end, it doesn’t even matter… if you skip his walk.
Meet Linkin Bark, a handsome, energetic boy who is ready to turn your home into his favorite place on earth. He’s treat motivated, highly trainable, and already knows sit! Plus he’s working hard on stay and come with hand signals.
But Linkin has one big request from his future family:

Linkin needs a LOT of daily exercise to be happy, healthy, and on his best behavior. Think fetch, running, or a good romp on an extendable leash. Even 30 minutes of solid exercise can make a huge difference for this energetic guy. An active adopter who enjoys getting outside and keeping a dog busy will be a great match for him. And when Linkin isn’t busy living his best rock star life? Give him sturdy chew toys stuffed with treats. He loves having something appropriate to work on!

Linkin would benefit from a little extra support during his first few days in a new home. Give him time to decompress, establish a routine, and learn that this is his new safe place. He has also shown some separation-related barking. In his foster home, he only barked once when people opened or closed the entry door. However, after being adopted, he was left alone for a full workday on his first day, and he barked incessantly. For that reason, a home where he won't immediately be left alone for long periods , and where his transition can be gradual and supportive.

Apartment living is not recommended because of his barking potential.

Linkin is interested in other dogs, but he's selective about his canine friends. He may give corrections if another dog makes him uncomfortable, and he can escalate if the other dog doesn't respect those corrections.

Slow, thoughtful introductions are important, and he’ll do best with people who understand canine body language and are willing to let relationships develop at Linkin's pace. Because Linkin can be jumpy and mouthy, he is not recommended for a home with young children. Linkin is cautious around cats, and he previously lived successfully with an adopter's cat. However, he was very eager to interact ;lots of snuffling and even grooming, and he isn't always great at recognizing when a cat is saying, “Dude. Back off.” A cat home could potentially work with the right setup: a cat who has plenty of safe, dog free spaces, careful management, and positive reinforcement training to teach Linkin that calmly leaving the cat alone is a very good thing.

From September 12th–19th, MACC Pack is sponsoring the adoption fees and Minneapolis Pet License fees for ALL adoptable and pre-adoptable animals at Minneapolis Animal Care & Control (MACC)! 🐶

That means adoption fees are $0 for animals adopted during our Borkday celebration! This includes MACC's PetSmart adoption event on Sunday! Come meet some amazing adoptable animals, and maybe leave with your newest family member.

MACC Pack Monday: Roger Rabbit

What’s up, Doc? Meet Roger Rabbit, a handsome brown Pittie with a big personality, a whole lot of energy, and a heart that’s ready to hop right into yours! Roger may be a little head shy when you first meet him, but give him a moment to warm up and his sweet, goofy side comes shining through.

Roger is a high energy guy who loves to have fun, he has loved being part of our Running Club to burn off his kennel stress. Roger has experience in playgroups and is considered dog social, so he knows how to enjoy some four legged company (we still advise slow introductions to other dogs). When he gets overly excited, Roger can become a little mouthy or overstimulated, but the good news is that he takes corrections well and is willing to listen to his people. He already knows sit and shake, too! His history with cats is unknown.

If you’re looking for a goofy, affectionate, energetic companion with plenty of personality, Roger Rabbit might just be your new best friend. Give this lovable goofball a little time, some guidance, and lots of positive attention, and you’ll have a friend who’s ready for his next great adventure!
